Rubber Bridge Finalists Found

The Rubber Bridge has been completed for 2009. Congratulations to the two successful pairs, Ray Gruschow & Graeme Norman, of the Wellington Bridge Club, and Allan Joseph & Rosa Mishkin of the Kairangi Bridge Club. 2009 Wellington Regional Club Championships

The Wellington qualifying for the National Club Championships was held at the Victoria Bridge Club on 14 June.
Congratulations to Wellington Bridge Club, who won by a slim margin from Karori Bridge Club.
Last year's representatives, Hutt Bridge Club were third. Full results in the tournaments section.

Dates: 10-12 July 2009
Venue: Wellington Bridge Club 17 Tinakori Road & Victoria Bridge Club (If required)
Catering: Lunch (Sat & Sun) & after function finger food

Provincial Pairs 10A 3 sessions. Session 1 starts Friday July 10 at 7.30 pm.
Provincial Teams 10A 3 sessions. Session 1 starts Saturday 1 July at 7.30 pm.
Congress Pairs Walk-in Friday 10 July at 7.30 pm and Saturday July 11 at 7.30 pm
Multi-Grade 8B 2 sessions. Session 1 starts Sun July 12 at 10 am.

Fees
Provincial Pairs $40 per player
Provincial Teams $45 per player
Congress Walk-in $10 per player per session
Multi-Grade $25 per player.


Interprovincial Trials Entry Notice 2009

Date: Sun. June 29, 2009 (& Sat. June 28 if needed)
Venue: Kairangi Bridge Club, 138 Hobart St. Miramar
Format: 4 x Person Teams (Open; Senior; Women & Intermediate)

Special Exceptions:

In acknowledgement of Wellington International players who will be out of NZ at the time of the trials, they may register their interest in selection as a third pair partnership.

If fewer than 3 teams enter any grade, then the selection of a representative team will be by the Independent panel appointed

Grade Requirements

Open Grade: Nil
Senior Grade: Born 1951 or earlier
Women's Grade: Nil
Intermediate Grade: Intermediate or Junior rank at January 1st 2009. In addition: Systems must comply with regulations governing Intermediate Tournaments. *(See NZBI manual 2008, NZ Bridge Systems Policy, p.p.D3)

Entry Fee: $20.00 per player
Closing Date: Tuesday 16 June at 5pm, 2009. Late entries will not be accepted

Youth Team

The Wellington Youth Team, for players aged Under 26 at 1 January 2009, will be selected by a panel approved by the committee. Any individuals interested in playing should contact the WRC Secretary at the above email address.
